“Most of things called luxuries or comforters are
not merely unnecessary but also rather impede ascent of human spirit.
In terms of luxuries or comforters, since olden days, the best wise
have lead a poorer life than poor people.
Ancient philosophers have lived poorest in terms of external wealth
and richest in terms of internal wealth.
Whether it is agriculture, commerce, literature or art,
luxurious life bears only the fruit of luxury.”

Spiritual richness and material richness contradict each other.
To acquire spiritual richness, material richness is not necessary.
No matter how rich you are materially, you would be a mediocre grown-up, if you are poor spiritually.

There is a famous verse in the New Testament:
“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.”

This is a verse obviously preaching about spiritual richness and poverty.
On the contrary, no matter how luxurious life man leads,
if he doesn’t have spiritual richness, he can’t know God.

Both truth and God exist not in the dimension of material richness, but in the dimension of mind and spirit.
This verse in the bible seems to indicate that.

Ancient true wise men had realized how meaningless and vain external richness was.
However, internal richness never vanishes,
because mind and spirit are not material.
They are not stolen or lost.

The New Testament has also a verse:
“Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.”

Spiritual richness is exactly the true wealth.
Both truth and God are with human mind.
