The Words of J. Krishnamurti, a Revolutionist of Life — Part 37
“Unless we know various activities of ego,
meditation becomes merely sensory stimulation.
If so, meditation becomes meaningless.”
It is the most important in meditation
to understand activities of our own ego,
because they are the root of our problems.
Problems and chaos in mind of humans.
In other words, fear, sorrow, despair, conflict, violence and void —
all of these come from activities of ego.
As long as we don’t clearly understand these activities of ego,
we would constantly remain holding problems and chaos in mind.
When this happens, we can’t have truly free meditation.
Meditation based on fear is not real.
Then, it turns to be the method of escape, the object of desires,
just pleasure or consolation.
Besides, how can the spirit with conflict and despair
meditate freely at all?
If the mind has chaos, we can’t meditate,
because meditation is a free activity without chaos.
First of all, we should end problems of our own ego.
And when the spirit becomes completely free and orderly,
then and only then, we can meditate.
